The family transformed their living room into an enchanted garden with pastel flowers and butterfly accents in the décor. Thankfully, they were well in time for the wedding muhurat!” laughs the bride. “The bus took a few rounds around Carter Road and the Bandstand promenade before it reached our house three hours later. ![]() So, the groom and his entourage turned an air-conditioned tourist bus into the baraat mise-en-scène, with t-shirts and hip flasks customised for the groomsmen. The wedding was hosted at the couple’s family home in the leafy by-lanes of Bandra on a rainy day. “I knew Aanchal would be the perfect bride to pull off such a vast spectrum of colours in one outfit.” For her son, Monisha designed a silver sequinned kurta with a deep neckline and Turkish-inspired neon green cord embroidery, teamed with silk slim pants. “Instead I wanted to play with colours and mirrors on a lightweight silk lehenga cut in a circular bias silhouette to add volume,” the mother of the groom carries on. “Since it was an intimate affair, I didn’t want to go over the top with embroidery or heavy fabrics,” explains the designer. The outfit was a multi-coloured mirror work lehenga with a bikini blouse featuring tassel detailing. “We flew them down from Bengaluru as that’s my favourite dessert, and I couldn’t get married without it,” smiles the bride.
